BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. Turkish ports handled 11.1 million tons of cargo from Israel in the first eight months of 2022, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 1.06 million tons of the cargo were delivered to Turkish ports under the flag of Türkiye, and 9.9 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
From January through August this year, 106,255 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by Israeli-flagged ships.
Turkish ports transshipped over 33.4 million tons of cargo in August 2022.
According to the ministry, in the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.3 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – more than 31 million tons to the ports.
At the same time, 6.2 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to the Turkish ports, the ministry said.
Turkish ports totally handled 264.6 million tons of cargo in the first eight months of 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports in the specified period amounted to 18.9 million tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries – 245.69 million tons.
Meanwhile, Turkish ports handled 54 million tons of transit cargo.
