BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. Uzbekistan’s Uzcharmsanoat trade association and Turkish Derimaksan company (manufacturer of equipment for leather production) look to launch a joint venture for leather manufacturing, Trend reports via Uzcharmsanoat.
The matter was discussed at a recent meeting between the leadership of the association with Huseyin Gulmez, head of Derimaksan.
According to the statement, the meeting was held within the framework of the 14th UzCharmExpo-ShoesStar EurAsia-2023 International Exhibition.
During the talks, the sides expressed hope to launch a new joint venture in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region by the end of 2023. Throughout negotiations, the parties also discussed issues related to the export-import of leather products.
Following the talks, the company from Türkiye said that it plans to establish the production of necessary equipment for development of Uzbekistan’s leather industry.
Derimaksan is a company, which produces equipment for leather manufacturing enterprises for 35 years. The company from Türkiye supplies its technology to 51 countries.
Back in April, with the framework of the 14th UzCharmExpo-ShoesStar EurAsia-2023 International Exhibition, the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat held a meeting with investors from China. Chinese investors expressed interest in launching a leather production enterprise worth $5 million in Uzbekistan.
