BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. The total value of Kyrgyzstan's gold exports reached $1 million from January though November 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Committee, Türkiye became the largest importer of gold from Kyrgyzstan in 11 months of last year. About 83.5 kg of gold were sold to Türkiye for $789,700.
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan's gold exports to Türkiye increased by more than 1.5 times compared to January through November 2021 ($416,800).
In addition, Kyrgyzstan also exported 5 kilograms to the UAE from January through November 2022. The total value of Kyrgyz gold exports to the UAE was $295,900.
Kyrgyzstan has a wide range of minerals, including gold, which has contributed to the development of the country’s economy. One of the largest gold mines in Central Asia, Kyrgyz Kumtor Gold Mine, since 1997 has produced over 13.8 million ounces of gold as of June 30, 2022.
