Turkiye reveals volume of chemical products transshipment by local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. A total of 14.05 million tons of chemical products were transshipped through the ports of Turkiye from January through October 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, 978,257 tons of the cargo were delivered to Turkish ports under the flag of Turkiye, and 13 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

From January through October 2022, 206,944 tons of chemical products were transported in transit through the ports of Turkiye.

During the specified time period, Turkish ports handled 330 million tons of cargo.

During the accounting period, ships flying the flag of Turkiye transported 423 million tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – 307 million tons of cargo during this period.

In addition, Turkish ports handled 66 million tons of transit cargo in the reported period.

The ports of Turkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.

Cargo transportation by ships flying the flag of Turkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries - 356.3 million tons last year.

Besides, Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo in 2021.
