BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 17. Money transfers from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia significantly increased in October 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Georgia.
According to statistics, remittance outflows from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia in October of this year amounted to $16.2 million, which is more than a twofold increase over the same month in 2021 ($6.1 million).
Thus, Kyrgyzstan ranked 6th in terms of remittances to Georgia in October 2022.
During the reporting month, Russia ranked first among countries in the world in terms of remittances to Georgia - $299.2 million. Followed by Italy ($35.7 million) and the US ($29.9 million).
Overall, the total amount of money transferred to Georgia in October this year amounted to $502 million, which is 2.4 higher compared to the corresponding month of last year ($206.7 million).
