BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Russia expects that non-regional players will not hinder the peace process in South Caucasus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during the joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, Trend reports.
"We expect that some of our regional colleagues will not interfere with these processes, and will guide the parties to strictly comply with the agreements that were reached in the trilateral Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani format," Lavrov said.
The minister pointed out that these agreements "remain the primary basis for the continuation of work."
According to Lavrov, Russia stands for deepening cooperation
between the countries located in the region.
"We welcome the process of normalization of relations between
Armenia and Türkiye initiated with our support, the efforts to
unblock transport links, communications in the region and,
certainly, post-conflict reconstruction in the South Caucasus
region," the Russian FM said.
