Iran records surge in number of trucks crossing Sero border terminal

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. The number of trucks crossing through Sero border terminal in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province increased by 56 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of Sero border terminal Chingiz Jahangiri said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

In total, 39,500 trucks crossed through Sero border terminal in 7 months, Jahangiri noted.

The official also added that 86,900 tons of cargo were transited through Sero border terminal within the mentioned period.

According to him, 533 buses crossed through Sero border terminal in 7 months.

“At the same time, 230,000 passengers crossed through the border checkpoint for the reporting period. This shows a four-fold increase compared to the same period last Iranian year,” Jahangiri said.

Iran's Sero border terminal is located on the border with Turkey.
