Iran’s production of mineral products increases

TEHRAN, Iran, October 31. Iran’s mineral products have increased in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022), said the director general of the Mining Industries Department in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Seyfollah Amiri, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

Mineral products had increased including raw steel (18 percent), steel products(11 percent), aluminum (20 percent), tile and ceramic (9 percent), and sponge iron(20 percent) growth in production, he said.

He underlined the government’s policies have led to an increase in cement price at Iran Mercantile Exchange to 6 million rials (about $142) per ton and 520,000 rials ($12) per 50 kilos.

He pointed out that following the ministry’s transparency policy all mineral products are being offered for sale to industrial factories at the mercantile exchange to supply domestic needs and export despite fluctuations in the foreign exchange rate and the effect of the Russia and Ukraine conflict.

According to the official, import of raw gold, silver and platinum are ongoing via Iran’s customs without customs tolls and importers are exempted from value-added tax.
