TEHRAN, Iran, September 3. Iran's auto industry is forced to deal with smuggled and counterfeit spare parts, said Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
He said the mentioned parts account for about 30 percent in the entire industry, adding that currently, more than 230 million auto parts have tracking codes.
The ministry has outlined some 130,000 auto parts, to combat counterfeit products and support the auto industry.
Fatemi Amin pointed out a four-year plan for the auto industry to create stability in production, supply auto parts, and reduce defaults in vehicles.
According to the official, four companies in the private sector have started a platform to import and produce auto parts.
