TEHRAN, Iran, July 9.Iran is starting to transit 10 million tons of commodities from Russia to the Persian Gulf states and Indian Ocean, said the Managing Director of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization Ali Akbar Safaei, Trendreports citing ILNA.
"We have set the target to transit 10 million tons of goods from Russia that is underway and it may increase as well," he said.
He pointed out that the government's agenda is to develop ports and improve the economy overall.
According to the official the trade between Iran and the neighboring countries will grow by increasing the number of fleet in Iran's northern and southern waters.
