BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. Uzbekistan reduced prices for diesel fuel for the third time in the last three months, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
On August 29 of this year, the starting price of synthetic diesel fuel was reduced from 15,550,500 soums ($1,391) to 14,504,378 soums ($1,297), and then on September 13 to 13,897,110 soums ($1,243).
The latest price reduction is due to the commissioning of the second stage of a new 'Uzbekistan GTL ' plant.
"The purity of GTL fuel and its high efficiency significantly increase the performance and technical characteristics of vehicles. Uzbekistan GTL fuel has been tested in certified centers of the Swiss SGS group in Belgium, Estonia and France. GTL diesel is ideal for cars and trucks running on Euro fuel-4, as well as overall and special equipment with a diesel engine of both domestic and foreign production," the officials at Uzbekistan GTL said.
Uzbekistan GTL is a fully owned facility of Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz. With the kick-off of the FEED 1 phase in 2009, and actual construction starting in 2017, the Uzbekistan GTL plant is one of the largest and most advanced plants of its kind in the world. The project aims to significantly expand Uzbekistan’s capacity for deep processing of natural gas and drastically reduce imports of hydrocarbon raw materials.
