The Committee on International Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Legislation and Parliamentary Research Institute under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a roundtable discussion on “The SCO Samarkand Summit: Tasks Facing the Parliament”.
It was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber, members of the Senate, youth parliaments under the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, as well as the scientific and expert council at the Legislation and Parliamentary Research Institute, representatives of the scientific community and the media.
The implementation of the documents adopted at the SCO Samarkand Summit imposes several important tasks on the parliament, deputies and senators.
One of the important tasks is to prepare proposals for introducing amendments and additions to the current legislation, based on a thorough study and analysis of the Samarkand Declaration and other documents adopted at the SCO Summit.
During the discussions, the tasks facing the national parliament and the Institute operating under it, as well as specific mechanisms for their implementation, were defined. The collection “Parliaments of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, prepared by the Institute, was presented.
The collection is intended for members of parliament and government, employees of state bodies and public associations, international and regional organizations, experts, scientists, researchers conducting research in parliamentarism, professors and students, as well as a wide range of readers.
Following the event, the necessary proposals and recommendations were developed.
