The Palace of International Forums “Uzbekistan” hosted the opening ceremony of Turkish Cinema Days and a creative meeting with filmmakers. It was organized within the framework of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”.
The event was attended by filmmakers, art lovers and foreign guests. Director General of Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is developing not only in social and economic sectors, but also in art, culture and cinema.
“We are very glad to meet at the opening of Turkish Cinema Days, which is held as part of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival”, Mr. Abdukhalikov said. “Our compatriots are very pleased with the arrival of Turkish cinema stars, famous actors and directors. The meeting of our leaders Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan within the framework of the SCO Summit will further strengthen our friendship. Today, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye filmmakers is rising to a new level. In the past two years, we have held meetings with Turkish filmmakers, directors and experts in Tashkent and Istanbul, during which several contracts have been reached.
It was noted that it is planned to shoot documentaries about the life and work of great Uzbek scientists. The event ended with a concert program.
