Tashkent hosted the 23rd meeting of the Board of the SCO Business Council within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The meeting was attended by the SCO Deputy Secretary-General Y. Ashimov, Executive Secretary of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization S. Kanavsky, D. Vakhabov from the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as chairmen of the national sections of the Business Council from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the observer country of Belarus, as well as representatives of business circles of the member countries of the organization.
The participants discussed issues related to the activities of the Board of the Business Council and identified priorities for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the business structures of the SCO member states soon.
Organizational issues were also discussed at the meeting. Shiv Vikram Khemka, Chairman of the national part of the SCO Business Council from the Republic of India, was elected as the new Chairman of the SCO Business Council for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023.
Following the event, the chairmen of the national parts of the SCO Business Council signed the final protocol on the agreements reached at the meeting.
