BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Uzbekistan plans to launch the production of naturally colored cotton, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, this will improve the economic efficiency of agriculture and increase the export potential of cotton.
Uzbek scientists are conducting research to create cotton varieties with high fiber quality using modern methods of molecular genetics, physiology, biochemistry and breeding.
Relevant research is being carried out in the test field of the biotechnology laboratory of the Research Institute of Selection, Seed Production and Agricultural Technology of Cotton Growing.
Laboratory staff research varieties of cotton and enrich the qualities of cotton species with light brown, dark brown, reddish, yellow, light green and dark green colors.
