BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, in the city of Samarkand, Trend reports.
During the meeting, they discussed the further development of Uzbekistan's multi-dimensional cooperation with the IMF, including priority areas such as reforms to ensure macroeconomic stability and the improvement of monetary, credit, and fiscal policies.
It was noted with satisfaction that the interaction with the IMF has noticeably intensified in recent years. Uzbekistan has hosted over 70 IMF missions, and the expert and technical assistance has been expanding.
Georgieva expressed full support and readiness to contribute to the continuation of the implementation of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan.
They also exchanged views on current issues in the global economy and sustainable development.
