BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The iodine production plant, located in the city of Bereket in the Balkan region in western Turkmenistan, significantly increased manufacture from January through June 2022, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.
During the reporting period, the enterprise manufactured products worth 4.9 million Turkmen manats ($1.3 million). The growth rate of production at the same time amounted to 102 percent.
At the same time, the capacity of the enterprise allows producing 250 million iodine sticks and 50 million iodine pencils per year.
The plant's products are exported to countries such as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and some European countries.
With the increasing dynamics of the construction of industrial and social facilities in Turkmenistan, the industry is becoming one of the major sectors of the economy, which is given an important role in the implementation of import substitution programs and increasing the export potential of the state.
