BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 27. The Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) has signed an agreement with the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation on the purchase of over 2,100 passenger cars and buses, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan website.
According to the information, of these vehicles that will be delivered to Turkmenistan, 780 are passenger cars, and 1,330 are buses. The total value of the contract was $115 million.
An additional contract was signed in November of this year for the purchase of 1,000 Toyota Coaster medium-class buses and 250 Toyota HiAce minibusses, as well as spare parts and consumables for them.
Sumitomo Corporation has been exporting and distributing cars to Turkmenistan since 2015.
