BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. The value of Georgian exports to Tajikistan amounted to $2.69 million in January 2023, which is a significant increase of almost 5 times from the same month of 2022 ($543,700), Trend reports with reference to the preliminary data of the National Statistic Office of Georgia.
According to the data, in the reporting period, Tajikistan mainly imported from Georgia equipment, parts, and accessories for transport (for $2.65 million).
Georgia also supplied to Kyrgyzstan machinery and mechanical appliances worth $36,950, as well as products from chemical industries worth $2,650.
Meanwhile, in the first months of this year, Tajikistan did not export any goods to Georgia, as well as on January 2022.
Overall, trade turnover between Georgia and Tajikistan amounted to $22.9 million in 2022, which is an increase of 1.8 times from $12.5 million in 2021.
The exports from Georgia to Tajikistan in the reporting period reached $22.6 million, from $12.4 million in 2021.
The exports from Tajikistan to Georgia made up $304,250 in 2022, which is an increase of 5.7 times compared to 2021 ($53,170).
Last year, the main share of Georgian exports to Tajikistan fell on machinery and transport equipment ($17.5 million).
