BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 11. Industrial production in the Sughd region of Tajikistan has increased in 2022 compared to the preceding year, Trend reports referring to the region's official website.
According to statistical data, the value of Sughd's industrial production reached 24.1 billion somoni ($2.3 billion) in 2022, which is an increase of 18 percent compared to 2021.
During the last year, the main attention was directed to the production of import-exchange and export-oriented products. Industrial enterprises of the Sughd region over the past year produced about 1.3 million tons of cement and 1.8 million tons of coal.
As reported, from the beginning of 2022, 145 new enterprises were launched in the Sughd region, and 2,904 job spots were opened.
Meanwhile, a total of 789 industrial enterprises are currently operating throughout the Sughd region.
