BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) - the world's largest humanitarian organization has published "Tajikistan Country Brief for October 2022", Trend reports citing the WFP.
According to the organization, in October 2022 the World Food Programme assisted 448,259 people in Tajikistan.
During the reporting month, a total of 884,9 metric tons of food assistance were distributed throughout the country.
Moreover, in October this year, 228 school feeding, nutrition and resilience projects were monitored by WFP in all regions of Tajikistan.
WFP has been present in Tajikistan since 1993, currently the organization supports vulnerable households in Tajikistan that have been socially and economically impacted from COVID-19. Among them, WFP prioritizes those families that are chronically food insecure and rely mainly on remittances sent from their family members working abroad.
