BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The volume of potato harvest in Tajikistan significantly increased over the year, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan.
As of November 18, 2022, Tajik farmers have collected a total of 821,340 tons of potatoes, which is 185,181 tons more compared to the same period of last year.
During the reporting period, an average potato yield in the Sughd region was 328 centners, in the Khatlon region - 178 centners, and 221 centners in the districts under Central Government Jurisdiction.
According to Tajikistan's Ministry, in 2023 local farmers of the country intend to grow 1.1 million tons of potatoes.
Meanwhile, the volume of last year's potato harvest of Tajikistan was in the amount of 1 million tons.
