Kyrgyzstan reports significant increase in wheat harvest

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. Wheat harvest in Kyrgyzstan significantly increased this year, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

As of October 23, 2022, the harvesting of grain crops (not including legumes, rice and buckwheat) from an area of ​​573,000 hectares was completed in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, during this period the wheat harvest in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 625,200 tons, which is an increase of 62 percent over the same period in 2021 (385,700 tons)

Moreover, the harvest of the following agricultural products significantly increased: barley (2 times), sugar beet (1.8 times), cotton (13 percent), tobacco (10 percent), oil seeds (by 9 percent), vegetables (by 4 percent).

Overall, the total volume of grain crops (excluding legumes, rice and buckwheat) in Kyrgyzstan as of October 23 this year amounted to 1.9 million tons.
