Kyrgyzstan sees decrease in volume of coal extraction

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The volume of bituminous coal extraction in Kyrgyzstan decreased in the first 9 months of this year, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to statistical data, Kyrgyzstan from January through September 2022 extracted 397,900 tons of bituminous coal, which is a decrease of 7.4 percent over the same period in 2021 (429,800 tons).

During the reporting period, the value of Kyrgyzstan's bituminous coal and lignite extraction totaled 3.5 billion soms ($42.2 million).

Meanwhile, the total Kyrgyzstan's mineral extraction in 9 months amounted to 33.1 billion soms ($398.1 million), which is an increase of 13.7 percent over the same period in 2021 - 29.1 billion soms ($350.3 million).
