BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The volume of wheat supplies from Russia to Kyrgyzstan significantly increased from January through August 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Russian wheat exports to Kyrgyzstan in the first 8 months of this year reached 117,208 tons, which is 2.3 times higher than in the same period of last year (50,941 tons).
The value of Kyrgyz wheat imports from Russia totaled $29.2 million from January through August 2022, which is almost a threefold increase over the same period in 2021 ($10.2 million).
Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan during this period also imported wheat flour from Russia in the amount of $3 million.
Overall, the Kyrgyz import of goods from Russia in the 8 months of this year increased by 36.3 percent compared to the same period of last year ($1.1 billion) - up to $1.5 billion.
