BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. Car manufacturing in Kyrgyzstan increased from January through August 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, in the first 8 months of 2022 Kyrgyzstan increased car production by 21.5 percent compared to the same period of last year (758.8 million soms, or $9.1 million) - up to 922.6 million soms ($11.1 million).
During this period, the total value of vehicle production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1 billion soms ($12.4 million), which is an increase of 17.2 percent over the same period in 2021 (878.6 million soms, or $10.6 million).
Meanwhile, in the first 8 months of this year Kyrgyzstan almost tripled the import of passenger cars compared to the same period of last year (7,443 units) - up to 21,753 cars.
Notably, as of October 17, the official rate set by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is KGS 82,71/1USD.
