BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 10. The value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 27 billion soms ($311.1 million) in January 2023, which is an increase of 7.5 percent over the same period in 2022, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Bakytbek Shokenov said, Trend reports via Kyrgyz media.
According to the committee, the growth in industrial production was incited by an increase of output in the manufacture of textile, clothes and footwear products, leather products, as well as pharmaceuticals, food (including drinks) and tobacco products, wood products and paper products and mining.
As the chairman noted, the negative tendencies were registered in the production of fuels and lubricants, rubber, plastics and building materials.
According to statistics, the total value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached 426 billion soms ($4.9 billion) in 2022, increasing by of 11.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2021.
The growth in 2022 was noted in the production of base metals, wood products and paper products, petroleum products, food products (including drinks) and tobacco products, extraction of minerals.
