BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. A working meeting was held between representatives of state structures of Turkmenistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkiye on the creation of transport corridors within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Trend reports citing Orient news.
This meeting is the first for the working group aimed at creating international transport corridors in the directions Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran and Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkiye.
The relevant initiative was put forward by the Turkmen side to strengthen economic ties in the ECO region, as well as the development of all types of transport in international combined cargo transportation.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the parties discussed the feasibility of creating a unified register of dangerous goods, checkpoints, maps of roads and railways.
