BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 16. Remittance flows from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia significantly increased over the year, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Georgia.
According to the Bank, remittances from Kyrgyzstan to Georgia in November of this year amounted to $19.5 million, which is a threefold increase over the same month in 2021 ($6.3 million).
Thus, Kyrgyzstan ranked 4th in terms of remittances to Georgia in November 2022.
Russia ranked first among countries in the world in terms of remittances to Georgia in the reporting month - $316.1 million. Followed by Italy ($35.7 million) and the US ($28.7 million).
Overall, the total amount of money transfers sent to Georgia in November this year amounted to $521.2 million, which is 2.5 times more compared to the corresponding month of 2021 ($207.3 million).
