BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The volume of Turkmenistan's natural gas exports via the Malai - Bagtyyarlyk gas pipeline from January through October 2022 has been published, Trend reports citing Turkmenportal.
During the reporting period, 6.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were exported through the pipeline. The bulk of this volume was exported to 25 provinces and autonomous regions of China.
High rates of gas production and export were achieved thanks to repaired wells at the Malai and Kerpichli gas fields.
Currently, Turkmen gas is supplied to China via three pipelines running along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China route. Their total throughput capacity is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Turkmenistan exported about 34 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China in 2021.
