TEHRAN, Iran, July 23. Iran and Russia will expand gas ties following the deal signed between the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Gazprom, said the Managing Director of the Iran National Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Changi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
"The NIGC 's cooperation with Gazprom is about gas swap with neighboring countries, although the volume has not been precisely decided upon," he said.
The official indicated that the most important goal of the signed memorandum is to expand gas trade with neighboring countries and Gazprom will also be involved in the construction of gas pipelines.
He underlined the ongoing negotiations with the neighboring countries for completing liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects with Iran and Russia's cooperation.
