BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. The prices for diesel in Tajikistan have slightly decreased in a period from May 1 through 7 compared to the preceding week, Trend reports via the World Food Programme (WFP) report for Tajikistan.
The WFP report noted that the average price for diesel fuel in the retail market of Tajikistan as of May 1 amounted to 11.6 somoni ($1.06) for a liter, which is a one-percent decrease from the previous report of April 24 (11.7 somoni or $1.07).
“During the reporting period, the lowest price for diesel was registered in Panjakent and Kushoniyon cities of Tajikistan -10.5 somoni ($0.96) for a liter. The price in Kushoniyon decreased by 1 percent compared to the preceding week, while the price in Panjakent remained the same,” the report said.
Meanwhile, the highest price for diesel was registered in Murghob city of Tajikistan - 15 somoni ($1.38) per liter same as in the previous week.
In Tajikistan’s Dushanbe, the price for diesel fuel was estimated at 11.3 somoni ($1.04) for a liter and decreased by 3 percent over the last week’s 11.6 somoni ($1.06).
WFP Tajikistan, in partnership with the Neksigol Mushovir advisory organization, has been monitoring commodity prices in markets across the country. The price data is collected through the network of field enumerators. For each commodity, multiple traders are interviewed, and the average prices are recorded.
