BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. Oil output in Europe is expected to stand at 4.50 million barrels per day in 2024, Trend reports with reference to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This is while in February report, EIA expected this figure to stand at 4.46 million barrels per day.
As for 2023, the Energy Information Administration predicts that Europe will produce 4.36 million barrels per day, versus 4.38 million barrels per day in the previous forecast.
In 2020, the biggest producer was Germany (94.3 Mtoe), followed by Italy (61.5 Mtoe), Netherlands (56.7 Mtoe) and Spain (56.6 Mtoe). In 2020, the EU produced mostly gas/diesel oil (215.6 Mtoe), followed by motor gasoline (90.7 Mtoe), fuel oil (47.2 Mtoe) and naphtha (40.3 Mtoe).
Eight of the biggest offshore oil and gas fields in Europe are located in Norway, with Equinor Energy serving as operator for six of the fields.
Patos-Marinëz, an Albanian oil field is the biggest on-shore oil field in Europe, and with its 11,854 barrels (1,884.6 m3) per day the biggest oil producing field in Albania.
