BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 19. The volume of hard and brown coal supplies from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan increased in 11 months of last year, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan exported 478,932 tons of hard coal to Uzbekistan from January through November 2022, which is an increase of 4 percent over the same period in 2021 (460,695 tons).
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan has also increased supplies of brown coal to Uzbekistan by 48.1 percent compared to 11 months of 2021 (421,478 tons) - to 624,153 tons in 2022.
Uzbek hard coal imports from Kyrgyzstan were worth roughly $15 million during the reporting period of last year, while brown coal imports - $18.5 million.
Earlier, Kyrgyzkomur, the state enterprise of Kyrgyzstan told Trend that coal mining enterprises of Kyrgyzstan produced 3.1 million tons of coal from January through November 2022.
