BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5.Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Türkiye amounted to $98.4 million from January through March 2023, which is 17.3 percent or $14.5 million more than in 1Q2022, Trend reports via Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
It was also noted that trade turnover between the countries in 2022 amounted to $351.2 million.
The statement was made following the meeting of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin with the newly appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to the Tajikistan Umut Acar on May 3.
During the meetings, the sides discussed issues on expanding and further developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, Tajik ministry proposed to create joint industrial enterprises for manufacturing of textile products, aluminum processing, wool and leather, fruits and vegetables, food, detergents and building materials with attraction of Turkish investments.
At the same time, the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation within the framework of the project aiming to increase trade turnover between Tajikistan and Türkiye for 2022-2025, and with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
