BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The economy of Tajikistan in the first 9 months of 2022 significantly grew over the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry, Tajikistan's GDP from January through September 2022 grew by 7.8 percent compared to the same period of last year - up to 79.3 billion somoni ($7.7 billion).
During the reporting period, agriculture accounted for 25.5 percent of the GDP, followed by industry (17.7 percent), retail trade (15 percent), and other services (17.4 percent).
The value of agricultural production in Tajikistan from January through September 2022 amounted to 33.5 billion somoni ($3.3 billion), which is 7.8 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
At the same time, Tajikistan's industrial output in the first 9 months of this year reached 30 billion somoni ($2.9 billion), which is an increase of 18 percent over the same period in 2021.
