Turkmenistan reveals data on volume of wheat acreage in Balkan region

Baku, Azerbaijan, June 15. Turkmenistan discloses data on the volume of wheat acreage in the Balkan region of the country, Trend reports citing the Turkmenistan Golden Age online newspaper.

This year, 50,000 hectares of land have been sown in the region, of which 80,000 tons of wheat are planned to be harvested. At the moment, wheat is being harvested.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of agricultural machinery, work is underway to provide it with fuel and lubricants and spare parts.

This year, the Government of Turkmenistan has set a task for the agricultural sector of the country – to harvest 1.4 million tons of wheat.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
