BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Azerbaijan’s real GDP growth in 2023 to stand at 3 percent, as compared to 2.5 percent in the previous forecast, Trend reports with reference to IMF’s World Economic Outlook.
As for 2024 and 2028, the country’s real GDP is set to grow by 2.6 percent each.
This is while IMF estimates a 4.6 percent growth in Azerbaijan’s real GDP in 2022. GDP per capita rose by 4.1 percent last year. Non-oil sector’s share in GDP grew by 9.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan said that the country's GDP from January through February 2023 increased by 0.4 percent to 19.8 billion manat ($11.6 billion) compared to the same period year-on-year.
Moreover, the government of Azerbaijan forecasts GDP growth of 2.7 percent for 2023 and 4.1 percent for 2024.
The International Finance Corporation expects the global GDP to rose by around 1.2 percent.
