BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Kazakhstan ranked fourth among the top 5 countries exporting oil to Italy in March 2023 in terms of quantity, Trend reports via the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.
Kazakhstan's oil exports to Italy amounted to over 504,000 tons in March 2023, worth $318.7 million.
The top country exporting oil to Italy was Azerbaijan - according to the ministry, in March, Azerbaijan exported over 973,000 tons of oil worth $617 million to Italy.
Azerbaijan is followed by Iraq and Saudi Arabia, with oil exports totaling 737,684 tons ($390.3 million) and 718,110 tons ($434.5 million, due to higher oil price), respectively.
The fifth place is taken by Libya. Libyan export of oil to Italy totaled over 489,000 tons ($290.1 million).
Overall, according to the Kazakh Ambassador to Italy, Yerbolat Sembayev, Italy is the leading trading partner of Kazakhstan in Europe and third worldwide. As he told Kazakh media outlets, cooperation between the countries is built based on the Treaty on Strategic Partnership.
