BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11. UAE’s Masdar is building new wind power plant with a capacity of 500 MW in the Tomdinsky district of the Navoi region of Uzbekistan,Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
The power plant, which is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2024, will produce 1.8 billion kWh of electricity per year.
As a result, 540 million cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved and 720,000 tons of greenhouse gases will be prevented from being released into the atmosphere.
The total cost of the project for construction of wind power plant is $600 million.
