BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Turkmenenergo State Corporation of Turkmenistan will conclude additional agreements to extend the terms of contracts with Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat company for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan, determining its volumes and prices, Trend reports citing Orient news.

The decree on this was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at a government meeting.

In accordance with the document, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan must submit proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers within a month on amendments and additions to the national legislation arising from this resolution.

Currently, the electricity generated by the region's power plants is exported to countries such as Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia and plays an important role in creating additional opportunities for further increasing the volume of supplies.

The country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025 and this will be facilitated by the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations and distribution facilities.
