EFSD shares data on sovereign financing operations in Tajikistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. International financial organizations and development agencies have carried out 447 sovereign financing operations with a total cost of $4.7 billion in Tajikistan from 2008 through 2022, Trend reports via the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD).

A larger number of the financing operations accounted for technical assistance (293), following by investment loans (92), grants (52), and stabilization loans (16).

The largest share of financing in terms of money was granted in the form of investment loans ($2.1 billion) and grants ($1.9 billion).

The projects in Tajikistan were mostly implemented by the World Bank (148 operations), the USAID (86 operations), the International Monetary Fund (74 operations), and the Asian Development Bank (70 operations).

According to the EFSD, the largest amount of operations in Tajikistan was implemented in 2013.

The EFSD sovereign financing database covers 11 countries of the Eurasian region and includes information of operations financed by 10 international financial organizations: the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the New Development Bank (NDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD).

The are also six agencies on development: the French Development Agency (AFD), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
