BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. Uzbek Uzbekiston Temir Yollari JSC (state railway company) is negotiating with companies from Europe and South Korea on the purchase of up to 140 trains, Trend reports via the Uzbek company.
In particular, it is planned to purchase 34 electric trains, 6 diesel trains and at least 100 new passenger cars of modern types to ensure the largest coverage of passenger traffic in railway service in all regions of the country.
The issues of purchasing rolling stock were discussed with French Alstom, German Siemens, Spanish SAF, Swiss Stadler, Czech Skoda and South Korean Hyundai companies.
